Last semester the Book Lab hosted an event on coffeehouses in the 18th century, a cultural moment of great significance to the circulation ofbooks and information. This public-facing research event was an incredible success and starting this semester, we will be continuing to host similar events, dubbing them our 'Cultural Bookmark' series. Our goal is to investigate significant moments in book and print history across cultures and time. Our next presentation will focus on apocalyptic texts and their recurrence throughout various times and cultures. Join us on November 3rd (not too long after Halloween) for a deep dive into the creation and significance ofbooks that imagine theapocalypse.
